Clients of ESUPERFUND are permitted to invest in Managed Funds with any Fund Manager that they choose. Examples of Fund Managers include but are not limited to Macquarie, Perpetual, Colonial etc.

Managed Fund Choices for your SMSF

Your SMSF is able to invest in any Managed Fund Type including but not limited to Share Funds, Property Funds, Balanced Funds, Structured Product Funds and so on. All Managed Fund Investments made by your SMSF must have a Prospectus which allows you to see where the Managed Fund is investing.

How to Purchase Managed Funds for your SMSF

To purchase Managed Funds for your SMSF you have a number of options when you join ESUPERFUND namely:

Option 1

You can use any Managed Fund Broker to acquire Managed Funds. This ensures that you do not pay any upfront commissions when you purchase Managed Funds. In this case we will request details of your Managed Fund Investments when attending to the Fund's annual compliance requirements.

Option 2

You can use the Comsec Managed Fund Platform. Details of this service can be found in the Comsec Website. The Comsec Managed Fund Service also rebates upfront commissions when you purchase Managed Funds. In this case we will request details of your Managed Fund Investments when attending to the Fund's annual compliance requirements.

Option 3

You can apply directly with the Fund Manager using their Prospectus.

Record Keeping

In relation to record keeping for Managed Fund Investments, ESUPERFUND will send you a Checklist each year guiding you on what documentation we require to prepare your SMSF's annual compliance requirements. This is typically the Managed Fund's Annual Distribution Statement which is provided by the relevant Fund Manager at the end of each Financial Year.
