towards the end of the financial year. In addition, we inform you of the
types of contributions an SMSF can accept for its Members. Lastly, we
remind pension members of their obligations regarding the 2019
minimum/maximum pension withdrawals.

Asset valuation is a key component in preparing meaningful SMSF
financial reports. For more information about the ATO's general
valuation guidelines and the specific valuation requirements for
specific asset classes (e.g. Real Properties, Physical Metals, etc.),

Shares and Securities, alleviating you of the responsibility of
maintaining these records in each financial year. Where a valuation is
required from Trustees, such as for Physical Metals, we will request
this information from you as part of the Annual Checklist Process.

There are rules for the types of contributions an SMSF can accept for
members. Before accepting a contribution, Trustees must make sure that
the SMSF is allowed to accept that type of contribution for the member.

We also advise that you can view your Total Superannuation Balance as
well as the remaining Bring Forward Non-concessional Contributions Cap
using the ATO online services through

If you are currently accessing a TRIS/SABP from your SMSF, you must make
withdrawals annually prior to 30 June to evidence the
Pension. The amount accessed must be between prescribed minimum and
maximum thresholds. Failure to do so may lead to serious penalties.
We advise that you can view your 2018/2019 Pension Minimum and Maximum
Withdrawal Limits via the ESUPERFUND Client Portal under the menu tab
Pension Summary". Please select Financial Year "30 June 2019" to view the 2018/2019
If your Pension(s) were established prior to 01 July 2018 and the
2017/2018 Annual Return is yet to be completed, the 2018/2019 withdrawal
limits are showing as “Being Prepared” at this stage. In this case,
please revisit the "Pension Summary" page after the completion of your
SMSF’s 2017/2018 Annual Return.
